Ontologies. And some days teaching is the most rewarding gift...

Today, I received this from my students... my senior composition students.  It simply speaks for itself

Teaching is beautiful ... and yes, there is a certain irony in the format presented here to me.  I am very

fortunate to have great, fertile minds to share concepts, ideas, formulas and theories with.

They teach me as much as I teach them...the secret is, they teach me more.

This Summer on Day Two of Darmstadt...Pino's Redux

Logo of Brand Acumen: My 'otherlife' as a Neologist.  A modification of the original designs by the iconic graphic designer, David Carson

On day two of the Darmstadt Summer Courses, this incident replays itself...again at Pino's Karlstraße 96, 64285 Darmstadt, Germany.

In the words of Yogi Berra (NY Yankees Hall of Fame catcher)..."It's Déjà Vu all over again."
Density Fluctuations Archetype from the Performance Notes

In an unusual setting, I was asked to create a unique work for a client in my otherlife, creating names (neologist). This was a request from an admirer of new music...he spoke of Aaron Cassidy, Peter Veale, Ablinger, Chaya Czernowin,Ensemble Nikel, Arditti, Pierluigi Billone and Georges Aperghis as his inspirations, yet due to his life commitments, he could not pursue his dream of becoming a composer of new music. I realized, some days you have to pinch yourself...remind yourself about what you do and be very thankful.
